Oh, How the Mighty Have Fallen

Yes, my fellow Cavs fan, the team that this year is the quickest to 40 losses was the team who last year, was the quickest to 40 wins. It has been an awful year for the Cavs to say the least. Gone is the promise of a Championship, pizazz of the home court, and yes, the star player, but I feel this year is exactly what the Cavs needed to officially move on. I know it is hard to watch, in fact I have to be honest. I did not watch a single minute of the Cavs vs Heat played on January 31st. I knew the Cavs were going to get killed and I did not feel like seeing you know who dominate again. I know it is tough, but we will all be better for it in the long run.

Maybe the Cavs will do it right this time by building a team through the draft, ala Oklahoma City and not cater to one guy. Maybe they will build a team to contend for many years and not just to win one championship. Maybe just maybe. I have hope with Dan Gilbert. I heard former Plain Dealer Cavs Reporter Brian Windhorst on "The Really Big Show" say that Cavs fans should beleive in Gilbert. He brought up a really good point and that is the Cleveland Casino, which opens in 2012. Dan Gilbert will want 20,000 people to come to The Q and then go to the Casino after the game. What will make people come to The Q? The answer is a quality product. That means we might have to endure a couple more tough seasons, but look out for the 2012-2013 season. That could be the season we see our Cavaliers return to prominence and more importantly, relevance again. Maybe just maybe.
