Let the Tournament Begin

Article By: Brent Bartchak
BRUNSWICK, OH- - Brunswick’s game against Elyria (12-8, 2-8) was delayed by one day because of Friday’s snowstorm, but that didn’t bring down the Blue Devils motivation to bring home a victory on senior night. This was Brunswick last game of the regular season as the tournament starts Monday. The Blue Devils first game will be on Tuesday.

The gym lacked energy as the game was played on Saturday afternoon, and the Pioneers used that to their advantage to stay close in the game. Brunswick was up the whole first half and went into halftime with a 27-19 lead. The Blue Devils would come out in the second half with the same intensity as the first half and cruised to a 71-57 victory. The most exciting moment of the game was when coach Joe Mackey put the five seniors on the court near the end of the game. Those seniors were Anthony Ocacio, Ray J Brown, Zach Gresch, Matt Dunning, and Pat Forsythe. These senior have put so much hard work into this season and it was great to see coach Mackey honor them like that.

Brunswick finished the regular season with 13-7 record and had a conference record of 5-5. They will face Cloverleaf (4-16) on March 1st at Midview high school. Tipoff is a 7:30.

JV Score:
Brunswick’s JV team also beat the Pioneers 55-46.
