Cleveland sports fans woke up this morning to resume their lives, which according to LeBron James is no different than what it was before the Miami Heat was unceremoniously dismissed from the NBA Finals by the Dallas Mavericks. He may be right in that respect. But there are reasons ranging from the casual fan to the most extreme sports fan as to why we all feel good about having as many championship rings as The Defeated One:
- LeBron cannot parade down some downtown Miami street celebrating his first title with the same media coverage as the Royal Wedding.
- A basic lesson we all learn growing up is still applicable on the biggest stage. Bullies do not like getting punched in the mouth. They tend to cower and shrivel in the face of adversity.
- We didn't want our "Cavs for Mavs" campaign to go to waste. Now if our "Cavs for Cavs" platform would ever work.....
- ESPN can leave our city disappointed that they cannot capitalize on this city's futility.
- Mark Cuban is the best owner in sports and he finally got his title the right way. This is the template that Dan Gilbert wants to emulate.
- The entire Dallas team did not have one NBA Title before this season. Each and every one of those players and coaches can realize their dream together. Who doesn't like a story like that?
- LeBron gave up his chance to be to Cleveland what Dirk Nowitzki is to Dallas. Loyal, hard-working and selfless. Just like Cleveland is.
- Did you see Miami's "fans"? Why were there empty rows? There were probably more fans at the Winking Lizard than at the game. Where are your observant eyes on that, national media?
- Maybe it's better for LeBron to stay in Miami. All they care about is where the next overblown and over priced party is. Plus botox and silicone. Which coincidentally is as fake as LeBron is.
- The Cavs finished first in something the NBA puts their name on, that being the NBA Draft while the Heat finished number two overall. If we're playing strictly golf rules, we have the lower score and we win.
- Wait til next year applies to us and LeBron, except we didn't have to go on live TV and get dismantled over the course of a week.
- Lastly, we can live with ourselves and hold ourselves accountable in all aspects of life. That's a lesson one can get from failure. LeBron will never win until he learns that area of the game.
