Peralta traded to Tigers

So far this year it has been the Cavaliers in the spotlight, with LeBron James leaving, and speculation of who the Cavs will try and obtain.  This time the Indians made a deal that will send Indians veteran 3b Jhonny Peralta to Detroit for LHP Giovanni Soto.  The 19-year-old Soto has spent the entire season at Class-A West Michigan. He is 6-6 with a 2.61 ERA in 16 starts.

As for Peralta, he had a decent career in Cleveland, but this year was inconsistent hitting .246 with 7 HR 43 RBI's.  His best year was in 2008 where he hit 23 HR 89 RBI's and batted with a .276 avg.  The 28-year-old Peralta is in the final season of a five-year, $13 million contract, which includes an $11 million option for 2011. He’s making $4.6 million this season.

Luis Valbuena will be brought up from Triple A to fill in at third base.

Who do you think could be the next Indians player gone?
It would not surprise me if one of our better than average pitchers is traded, or Austin Kearns.  Check back here for more updates or check us out on Twitter- PTS4Cleveland.
